Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced flood and drainage apprentice to join our Hydrology Team in Bristol. The ideal candidate will have around 1 year or more of relevant experience and be currently in a similar role.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing:

The Hydrology team supports Water Environmental development issues, including planning applications for housing, drainage design, flood risk, Nutrient Neutrality, and WFD. We also support DCO projects across sectors like road, rail, energy, and water. We act as problem solvers for water-related challenges, making this a fitting team for interested candidates.


Key responsibilities:

  • Essential: Understanding and basic experience in Flood Risk Assessment, Drainage Design, and planning applications.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Desirable: Ability to undertake flow modelling from conceptual to detailed design stages, stakeholder consultations, site walkovers, supporting Flood Risk Assessments and ES Chapters, bid support, research, business development, client meetings, staying updated on drainage trends, and mentoring junior staff.

Candidate Profile

You will have around 1+ years of experience, interest in project delivery and team management, and comfort managing larger projects and liaising with clients.
