Job summary

Nottinghamshire County Council announces a Highways Trainee role on a fixed-term basis. Based at County Hall, West Bridgford, you will work 37 hours weekly on a 38-month contract and gain structured training toward the Level 3 Transport Planning Technician Apprenticeship.

You will learn from experienced highways professionals, collecting data, assisting design, and supporting delivery to improve local infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs 9-4 including English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
  • Willingness to complete the Level 3 Transport Planning Technician Apprenticeship (24-36 months).
  • Basic knowledge of transport planning and highway design principles.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyse data to support transport strategies and projects.
  • Assist in the design and development of highway improvement schemes.
  • Support project delivery as part of a collaborative team.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of existing and proposed programmes.
  • Develop your skills through structured training and workplace learning.

In This Role, You Will

To Be Successful In This Role, You Should Have
