The Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is seeking motivated individuals for the role of Apprentice Healthcare Support Workers. This full-time apprenticeship is an 18-month fixed-term contract that often leads to permanent positions.
Applicants must be aged 18 or over, hold English and Maths GCSEs, and should not have a degree in a health-related subject. The program includes comprehensive training, with cohorts starting in September 2026.
We are looking to recruit motivated, caring, compassionate individuals for the role of Apprentice Healthcare Support Workers. The Apprenticeship programme offers a full‑time 18‑month fixed‑term contract which in most cases leads to a permanent position with Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
Applicants must be aged 18 or over on the date of starting and have lived in the UK for 3 years prior to enrolment. You must hold English and Maths GCSEs with grades 9–1 / A*–G or equivalent. You MUST NOT hold a degree, level four qualification or above in a health‑related subject, nor have significant healthcare experience.
The programme will include the following training:
You will be required to work in clinical areas as a member of the team to deliver care to patients, demonstrate excellent communication skills, work under pressure, and show genuine interest in caring for people.
