The 3.5 year fully-funded Masters Level 7 Apprenticeship programme leads to a professional accountancy qualification with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) , achieved alongside work placements across a range of Council finance teams to gain valuable, real life work experience.
The apprenticeship is a 3.5 year fixed-term training contract, transitioning into a permanent role in the Finance service upon successful completion of all elements of the qualification and apprenticeship.

Please note: the person specification within the job description shows the requirements for the minimum destination post at the end of the apprenticeship, i.e. a Grade 6 Finance Officer, as such it contains “essential requirements” we recognise that many applicants may not have. Please do not be deterred from applying, as these requirements are not essential for those joining the apprenticeship scheme – instead these skills will be achieved by successful applicants during the scheme.
