What you’ll do:

Experience rotations across departments, gaining skills, knowledge, and insight into network services. This role offers career progression in telecommunications while earning a recognized qualification.

• Work in various environments including offices, outdoors, BT exchanges, data centres, and emergency service locations.
• Learn to install, maintain, and test site equipment according to contract requirements.
• Work on emergency service vehicles installing, maintaining, testing, and commissioning telecommunications equipment.
• Understand Emergency Services Radio Communications, VHF/RF/Microwave systems.
• Work with optical fibre, including cable preparation, OTDR testing, and interpreting results.
• Learn about IP routers and networks.
• Understand project requirements and how to meet customer needs.
• Complete risk assessments and become part of a UK-wide field force.
• Implement health and safety standards and regulations.

Who you are & what to prepare for:

• Willing to work at heights, outdoors, and travel across the UK.
• Occasionally work in emergency service locations or around vehicles.
• No experience required; full training provided.
• Right attitude, commitment, and eagerness to learn.
• Provided with a vehicle, mobile phone, laptop, and PPE.
• Ownership of tasks and personal development is expected.
• Effective communication skills are essential.
• Logical thinker and problem solver.
• Physically capable, with normal colour vision.

The Requirements:

• At least 5 GCSEs Grade 4 or higher, including Maths, English, and Science or IT.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Over 18 by September 2025.
• Able to pass security clearance and drug/alcohol screening.

Programme Specifics:

• Duration: approximately 24 months.
• Starting salary: £17,500, increasing during the programme.
• Qualification: Level 3 Information Communications Technician.
• Support from Bragd training provider.
• Primarily field-based with office and college visits.
• Potential for a full-time position after completion.
