Job description

We're currently looking for an Apprentice Electrical Engineer to join our talented team in Nottingham and embark on a dynamic career path in building services engineering.

This apprenticeship will offer you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in electrical systems, while studying towards a Level 4 Building Services Engineering Senior Technician qualification. You'll work alongside experienced professionals and have the chance to contribute to exciting projects that make a real impact.

Who we're looking for

  • GCSE (GCSE) Five GCSEs including Maths, English and Science (Grade 4/C or above) essential

  • A structured learning pathway toward a professional qualification. During the apprenticeship, the following qualification will be undertaken: Building Services Engineering Senior Technician Equal to Level 4 (in partnership with Leeds College of Building)
  • Block release learning at Leeds College of Building (1 week attendance every 5 weeks)
  • The opportunity to grow within a dynamic and fast-paced organisation

What you'll be doing

  • Learn how to prepare material schedules and procurement plans, ensuring materials and equipment are available on-site in line with project timelines.
  • Understand how cost estimates are developed during tender stages and learn to create subcontractor packages, evaluate responses, and spot any changes or gaps in scope.
  • Attend subcontractor meetings and reviews, assisting in coordinating with the project surveyor to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Develop the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and designs, checking for accuracy, standards compliance, and functionality.
  • Gain a strong foundation in health and safety standards, ensuring that you and your team always prioritise safe working practices.
  • Learn how to interpret key technical information, including specifications and industry regulations, to support compliance and quality assurance.
