We’re excited to expand our Commissioning Team with an Apprentice EICA Commissioning Engineer to join our Professional Development Programme for our 2025 intake. This will be a site-based role across the United Utilities Region.

What will you be doing?

You will report directly to the Commissioning Manager and gain experience and training from a highly experienced EICA team working on projects within the Water & Wastewater Treatment Industry. Throughout the programme, you will have the opportunity to work on all project stages. The first year will include a period in a factory environment at one of our supply chain partners, participating in the manufacture and assembly of essential water industry equipment.

We are looking to attract future leaders. To support our growth plans for 2024 and beyond, we are seeking a potential Apprentice EICA Commissioning Engineer to join our apprenticeship scheme. You will work alongside multidisciplinary engineering site teams at various client sites throughout the Severn Trent region, as well as with our design teams at Derby Offices.

Apprenticeship Details:

You will undertake a Level 3 Engineering Design Technician course at a local college under our mentorship. The course duration is approximately four years.

  • Site-based role with occasional office attendance within the Severn Trent region
  • Ability to commute daily or lodge locally as needed
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Self-motivated, flexible, reliable with problem-solving skills
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Curiosity about how things work is desirable
