Job description

Job Title: Apprentice Early Years Practitioner
Hours: 30 hours per week (8.45am to 3.15pm Monday to Friday)
Position: 38 term time weeks per year
Pay: £7.55 per hour plus leave allowance of 12.07%
Venue: footprints@kingsmeadow nursery, Kings Meadow Primary School, Meadow Lane, Ainsdale, PR8 3RS

We’re looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated Apprentice Early Years Practitioner to join our nurturing team at footprints@kingsmeadow nursery.

This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn in a supportive, professional nursery environment — helping children aged 2–3 thrive and grow during their vital early years.

You will help with ensuring the requirements of Ofsted and the Early Years Foundation Stage are met and have experience working in a busy early years childcare setting.

The purpose of the role is to:

  • Support children’s learning
  • Be a ‘key person’ to a small group of children and build positive relationships with their families
  • and development through play.
  • Protect and promote the health and well-being of children.
  • Ensure that safeguarding procedures are followed.
  • Promote positive relationships in the early years setting.

•A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team.
• Understanding of the EYFS framework and child development principles.
