Job summary

Cherubs Nurseries is seeking an apprentice to turn a passion for children into a rewarding career. Work 30 hours a week plus supply, join a family‑run group, and gain hands‑on experience, valuable qualifications, and support every step of the way.

You will progress through childcare training, contribute to a safe and engaging environment, attend Saturday training days, and have access to staff events and internal development pathways.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Childcare Team to provide an amazing service, for both our children and families.
• Ensure the children’s environment and your nursery is kept safe, secure and clean at all times.
• Be a role model for the children at all times.
• Work towards your qualification in childcare, ensuring all targets are met and you are always up to date with any assigned coursework.
• Assist in the thorough planning and successful delivery of a variety of activities (both indoor and outdoor) to maintain the children’s interests and to ensure the development of all children in‑line with their own needs.
• Establish and maintain friendly but professional relationships with all parents, staff and suppliers.
• Attend all staff events including parents evening, staff meetings, summer fairs and training - some of these may be out of working hours and on weekends.
• As part of this role, you will be required to attend 3 paid Saturday Training Days every year (January, May and September) along with an annual fundraising event for your nursery that also takes place on a Saturday.
