Job summary

Qualifications

About For over 15 years Elmdon Day Nursery has been offering caring, stimulating, high quality childcare to ensure all our children develop to their highest potential. In partnership with staff , parents and Ofsted we have created an environment where all children are able to blossom and grow. The bright, colourful nursery has been designed and planned to meet the needs of all age groups.We have separate specialist areas for each age and a large outdoor play area featuring a mud kitchen, play chalet , twigwam, balancing beams, sand pit, and a variety of climbing equipment and ride on toys.The apple and pear trees provide spring blossom, summer shade and autumn fun when the children run to collect the fruit. Our aim is to provide a friendly, caring, healthy and fun nursery for all children and to enable all our parents/carers to feel confident and reassured when leaving their children in our care.

For the successful candidate there is ongoing employment upon completion of the relevant qualifications.

Duties will include:

  • Be responsible for completing observations and adding this to children's records as appropriate
  • Help to settle children in the nursery and liaise with parents daily
  • Ensure all children always have access to drinking water, both indoors and outdoors
  • Record any accidents and incidents which may occur during the day
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality within the nursery
  • To put into practice the nursery’s policies and procedures
  • To work positively within the team structure and be included in the staff duty rotas
  • Generally, assist the staff when and where appropriate
  • Participate in staff training and staff meetingsFamiliarise yourself
  • with children’s individual care and dietary needs and ensure they are maintained, respected, and always followed
  • To respect and keep tidy all classrooms during and after use
  • Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Employee Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
  • Apprentices must successfully complete the Level 3 Award in
  • Paediatric First Aid (RQF) or Level 3 Award in Emergency
  • Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

The setting is open 07.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday so you will be offered 40 hours per week during this time.
