Job Description:

Richard Irvin, an RSK Group company, is recruiting for an Apprentice Domestic Gas Service Engineer to join the team based in Inverness, UK. This is a full-time, apprenticeship position.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and ambitious individual to join an already thriving business and develop their career by building on Richard Irvin’s established success. You will be required to spend blocks at college along with on-the-job training, working alongside a fully qualified Domestic Gas Service Engineer.

Our team of engineers, operations staff, project managers, and compliance specialists are trained to start with our clients’ individual needs and work outwards. Our experts have extensive experience in advising and leading FM contracts and projects in both the public and private sectors across industries. Our team is based throughout the UK, so help is always nearby.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in carrying out annual and interim maintenance visits in compliance with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations.
  • Assist in the installation or replacement of gas appliances and heat emitters.
  • Assist with installation of gas pipework, including testing for tightness and strength as required.
  • Help replace heating controls and components following manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Support combustion performance analysis of gas appliances.
  • Assist in fault investigation and diagnosis using manufacturer’s technical literature.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • IT literate
  • Hardworking, punctual, a team player, and trustworthy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Salary and Benefits:
  • Salary of £13,312 per annum
