Job summary

Riverdale Healthcare is seeking an Apprentice Dental Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients, supporting the smooth running of the practice and delivering an excellent patient experience.

You will study for your Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship, developing communication, organisation and IT skills while supporting both patients and the dental team. There is potential for a full-time role after completion.

Qualifications

• Essential GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients warmly in person and on the phone, ensuring a friendly first impression.
• Managing appointment bookings and changes using the practice management system.
• Communicating waiting times and upcoming appointments to patients.
• Welcoming and checking in patients efficiently on arrival.
• Maintaining confidential patient records on the electronic system.
• Responding to emails and phone inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Booking follow-up appointments and managing recall systems.
• Supporting the team to keep appointment schedules efficient and full.
• Processing payments and completing administrative tasks within reception.
• Maintaining a clean, welcoming reception and waiting area.
• Ensuring documentation such as treatment plans and patient histories are completed correctly.
• Building relationships with dentists, nurses and staff.
• Gaining understanding of dental services offered and assisting patients throughout their journey.
