Job summary

Salford City Council's Citywide Services is offering an Apprentice Assistant Cook role working 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only. Under the supervision of a Cook Supervisor you will assist with preparation, simple cooking, serving meals and general kitchen duties.

You will receive full training to complete a Level 2 Production Chef apprenticeship, plus hygiene and maths/english qualifications.

Qualifications

• Full training will be provided for this role and you will complete a Level 2 Production Chef apprenticeship course, hygiene certificate and a level 2 in maths and English (unless exempt).
• You will be overseen by an experienced tutor alongside the Cook Supervisor during your apprenticeship.
• There will be one day per week of attendance at Salford College (timings to be confirmed).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, simple cooking, and serving of meals as directed.
• Carry out general duties including cleaning, washing up and storage.
• Support the kitchen team to ensure a high standard of food hygiene and service.
