Training Course – Commis Chef

Hours

Shifts are allocated on a rota system working 40 hours over 5 days in a 7-day week. Overtime may be available during busy periods if you are 18 or over.

What will I do?

As an apprentice, you will be part of The QHotels Collection, gaining hands-on experience from both the Head Chef and Apprentice Provider. Your responsibilities include supporting restaurant operations and assisting with banqueting for larger events.

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals for guests
• Follow brand standards and recipe specifications
• Work as part of the kitchen team to meet quality standards
• Be flexible to work late or unsociable hours as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workstation
• Stand and move around for most of the day

Your training plan

You will learn alongside experienced chef specialists during your 12-month training program, collaborating with Chef Benson-Smith Academy to achieve an accredited Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship and potentially progress to Level 3 Chef-de-Partie.

Desired qualifications:

• GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) desirable
