What is the job role?
This is an exciting, interesting, and sustainable career opportunity which will allow you to learn on the job, gain qualifications, and develop your skill base by being part of a dedicated, forward-thinking, innovative, brave, supportive, and integrated transport and highways service. The apprenticeship is for two years, starting at Level 4 Civil Engineering Senior Technician. There is potential to move onto the level 6-degree apprenticeship following successful completion of the level 4, which is a further 3 years.
It will be a condition of any employment offer that you are accepted onto the Level 4 programme by Coventry University.
You will work across all parts of the Transport and Highways service, including: Highway Maintenance, Flood Risk Management and Drainage, Public Realm (major infrastructure projects), and Traffic Road Safety to assist in the development and delivery of various construction schemes and related tasks. You will work closely with and be supported by an experienced team of engineers and technicians to help achieve the delivery of the annual multi-million-pound programmes of works in Coventry.

This apprenticeship role is a fixed-term contract for 24 months in line with the training duration.
Who are we looking for?
We seek someone with a keen interest in making Civil Engineering their career and who wants to help us improve the city’s transport infrastructure. This is a public service role, so enjoying helping people and engaging with the community is important. You should be able to work well within a team, be flexible, and have a ‘can do’ attitude.
Requirements include a full current UK driving licence or working towards one, the ability to use IT systems, good communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
