Job description

Job Title: Apprentice Chef

Salary: £11.44 per hour

Location: Prince William of Gloucester Barracks, Grantham, NG31 7TJ

Reporting to: Contract Manager

Hours/working pattern: 35 Hours per week (5 days out of 7)

We're currently recruiting an ambitious Apprentice Chef to help us create exceptional food experiences for ESS on a full-time basis contracted to 35 Hours per week.

As an Apprentice Chef, you will be working in a passionate and hard-working team to create an outstanding culinary experience for our customers. You do not need to have any experience to apply for this vacancy as full training will be provided as part of the Apprenticeship!

On completion of the Apprenticeship you will achieve the L2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship and become a qualified Chef.

Due to contractual requirements candidates must be aged 18+ and will be required to pass DBS Check. In addition, candidates will need their own transport as transport links are limited.

• Prepare food to recipe specifications in a timely manner.
• Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed.
• Keep workstation and cooking equipment clean, organized, and sanitized.
• Make sure food temperatures are maintained and food is stored properly.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Follow and uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations.

Our ideal Apprentice will:

• Handle food according to safe food practices while maintaining a safe and sanitary work area.
• Prepare food to facility standard within required time frames, while minimizing waste in all food preparation.
