Job summary

N Family Club in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire is seeking an Apprentice Chef to support our kitchen team in preparing meals for children and staff. You’ll work toward a funded Level 3 Production Chef Apprenticeship while gaining hands-on experience in a busy nursery kitchen.

You’ll assist the Chef, follow nutrition guidelines and food safety rules, and develop skills in portioning, menu prep and kitchen paperwork. A great role for a creative, eager learner in early years.

Qualifications

• Food Preparation and Hygiene NVQ Level 2 or above; Level 3 during induction if not held.
• Willingness to adopt conscious practices in food and cooking.
• Passion for food creativity and working with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cooking fresh, nutritious meals for children and staff.
• Follow nutrition needs for different ages and food safety guidelines.
• Support with daily lunches and smoothies for the nursery team.
• Help with kitchen paperwork, cleaning schedules and safety logs.
• Maintain kitchen to a 5-star Food Hygiene standard.
