Apprentice CAD Technician 2025

What will you be doing?

When you join us as an apprentice, you will:

  • Complete an apprenticeship course relevant to the role, to suit your current education level. At the end of the programme, you will gain a qualification in this field as well as learning the practical skills and hands-on experience doing the job.
  • Join us on our Trainee Development Programme, where you will be given the training and tools to develop your skills through a series of modules over an 18-month period followed by a graduation event.

The CAD Trainee Technician will participate in creating a safe working environment on assigned projects and act as an assistant for project BIM technical requirements; respond to the Clients technical requirements, develop the outline BEP into a Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP) and lead project BIM workshops.

This will include:

  • Understanding the impact of design in lifting and ALM
  • Surveying duties using our inhouse FARO scanner.
  • Assist in asset layout during early design development.
  • Supply chain engagement for engineering solutions
  • Able to read P&ID’s and apply to coordinated models.
  • Knowledge of pipe fittings and materials
  • Understanding fabrication processes and consideration of constructability
  • Installation techniques
  • Undertake Risk Assessments to aid with design.
  • Assist the engineering team with TQ assessments.

This role is available for a Summer 2025 start, with the possibility of an earlier start date to suit yourself and the business.

As part of the apprenticeship programme you will be expected to work in and around the location advertised, with the possibility for travelling to other projects and locations around the UK in the future. This role is office based with site travel.
