Overview

Classic Shaker Design in Carnforth are recruiting for an Apprentice Cabinet Maker. The successful candidate will work towards completing a Level 2 Furniture Manufacturer apprenticeship over the duration of 24 months.

The Opportunity

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience and formal training in the art of cabinet making and the modern technology of CNC machining. You will be mentored by a team of skilled professionals, learning both traditional craftsmanship and advanced manufacturing techniques. This apprenticeship is designed for someone with a strong work ethic who wants to build a long-term, rewarding career with our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cabinet Making: Assist in the production of bespoke fitted furniture, including kitchens, bedrooms, and commercial projects. Learn and practice a range of skills from measuring and marking out materials to cutting, jointing, and assembly.
  • CNC Operation: Train to operate and maintain our Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machinery. This will include learning how to set up, load, and run programs to precisely cut and machine components.
  • Materials Handling: Assist with the safe and efficient handling of a variety of materials, including wood, laminates, and other composite materials.
  • Quality Control: Develop a keen eye for detail and learn to perform quality checks on your own work and the work of others to ensure all products meet our high standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively as part of our busy workshop team, assisting colleagues and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Workshop Maintenance: Help to maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
