Where will you be working?

M Group Highways in Devon

At M Group Highways, we’re supporting the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK including highway maintenance services with Devon Highways.

You’ll be joining our vehicle maintenance team that underpins our Devon Highways highway maintenance contract, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions.

What will you be doing?

Starting your employment in September 2025, this programme will develop your practical, technical and soft-skills, with Health & Safety at the heart of everything you do. On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you’ll gain a Level 2 Auto-care Technician qualification and a permanent, long-term career with M Group Highways!

You’ll carry out tasks such as:

  • Vehicle safety inspections and routine maintenance in line with manufacturers specifications
  • Maintenance of key equipment that supports the delivery of highway maintenance
  • Use a range of specialist tools & equipment, mechanical & electrical measuring tools and diagnostic equipment to support fault identification and repair
  • Looking at vehicle technical data to make judgements on wear and serviceability

What you’ll bring:

  • The Right to Work in the UK (you must have lived in the UK for 3+ years)
  • Valid UK driving licence (or be on track to achieve this within a year)
  • Willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team
  • Physical fitness and willingness to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Functional Skills requirements equivalent to Maths and English GCSE at grade 4 or above. If you do not currently have these qualifications, the training provider will help you achieve them as part of the apprenticeship
