Overview

Adult Mental Health have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Administrator to work within our admin team based at City South LMHT at the Stonebridge Centre. The post holder will become fully conversant and competent in providing administrative support within the NHS and will gain diverse administration experience supporting a variety of teams. The post holder will be supported to complete a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship.

The ideal candidates would be hard working with a desire to develop into a role within the NHS.

Responsibilities
  • To provide general office and administration support services.
  • To undertake general office duties, for example, answering the telephone, taking messages, filing, photocopying, handling incoming and outgoing post, etc.
  • To communicate with staff and visitors on a daily basis, providing support where required and helping resolve any issues.
  • Assist the administrative team to arrange and administer meetings, including booking venues and preparing/distributing papers.
  • Under supervision, produce accurate letters, reports and maintain databases as required.
  • Under supervision, develop and maintain administrative support systems and manual/electronic filing systems, ensuring they are effective and reviewed regularly.
  • To assist with the ordering of supplies as appropriate.
  • Assist in the tasks and duties of other staff within the team during periods of staff leave/absence to maintain a high-quality service and contribute to the work of the team.
  • To record and securely store information relating to confidential matters and enquiries.
  • To undertake an annual appraisal to identify any personal development required to meet team objectives and further develop skills and the role.
  • The post-holder will be required to undertake essential training as and when required.
Apprenticeship & Training
  • To gain an understanding of how the team functions by providing support as required while gaining knowledge and experience and undertaking the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship.
  • Knowledge-based off-the-job training will take place during the 18 months of the Apprenticeship. The apprentice must complete 20% off-the-job training to be eligible for the Apprenticeship.
Benefits & Additional Information

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled Worker visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. The salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker/Health & Care visa; the Trust would not be able to sponsor in these circumstances.

Applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment: £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced). The DBS cost will be deducted from salary over the first 2 months of employment. The DBS Update Service is available for an annual fee of £16.
