Purpose of the role - Is to provide accounting and administrative support to the finance department while developing foundational accounting knowledge and skills through a structured learning and practical experience. This apprentice role combines on the job training with formal study to build expertise in bookkeeping, financial processes and business operations.
The role start date will be as soon as possible with the provision to start an apprenticeship in September 2025, it is likely this will be 4 days in the work place and 1 day in the learning environment however the details will be confirmed with the provider.
Key Responsibilities -
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions
- Support bank reconciliation processes
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
- Input data into accounting software systems
- Assist with VAT return preparation and submission
- Support month end and year end procedures
- Assist with credit control activities
- Prepare basic financial reports and statements
- Respond to supplier and customer account queries
- Participate actively in apprenticeship learning programme
- Complete assigned coursework and assessments on time
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Good organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to handle confidential financial information
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiasm for learning accounting principles
- Minimum 5 GCSE's Including Math's & English at Grade 4/C or above
- Commitment to completing a level2/3 accounting apprenticeship qualification (AAT or equivalent)
