• Attend monthly finance team meetings and share ideas for best practice.
• Communicate with Account Managers to resolve queries and approve invoices.
• Liaise with suppliers and onboard new suppliers with FD approval.

What are we looking for?

The Accounts Apprenticeship is a 15-month programme, where you will work towards a Level 3 AAT qualification provided by First Intuition. In your role, you will assist our Finance team with various tasks, supporting daily financial activities and contributing to the smooth operation of our global Finance function. As an Accounts Apprentice, you will work closely with our small accounting team, contributing to the smooth operation of our in-house Finance function.

Alongside your structured apprenticeship training, you will receive on-the-job training. We want to provide continuous learning, so that you can see your skills develop over your apprenticeship. You’ll learn from qualified accountants and also be part of a team where other members are pursuing their own higher-level financial qualifications.

Following completion of the apprenticeship, you could be given the opportunity to apply for a permanent position at Lancer Scott with the option of further study.

What will my core responsibilities be?

• Assist with day-to-day financial transactions and record-keeping.
• Process invoices and expense claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with the month end process, reconciling accounts, producing reports and financial statements.
• Contribute to financial process improvement initiatives, testing new automation workflows and provide feedback and suggestions for further improvements.
• Attend monthly meetings with the whole finance team to share ideas and best practice around core activities.
• Communicate with Account Managers to resolve queries and approve invoices for payment.
• Liaise with suppliers, requesting copy statements and analyse the data to identity discrepancies.
• Set up and onboard new suppliers ensuring all the correct information is gathered and approval agreed with the FD.
