Job summary

Vertu Motors, Gateshead is offering an opportunity to start your career in accounts as an Accounts Assistant apprentice. You will be training toward an AAT or Assistant Accountant qualification with on-the-job learning.

You will support sales and purchase ledgers, invoices, monthly accounts, reconciliations, banking, and cashflow while growing your skills in a dealership environment and benefiting from structured training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at level 4/9 or equivalent.
• IT literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft packages.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sales ledger and purchase ledger duties, including checking and filing invoices and statements.
• Support monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and banking activities.
• Contribute to cashflow management and credit control tasks.
• Handle ad-hoc accounting duties as required.

We have a great opportunity for someone looking to kick start their career in Accounts!

You will be training to become anAccounts Assistant. This role assists with the seamless operation of the accounting and financial procedures within the dealership. In particular assisting with sales ledger and purchase ledger duties such as checking invoices, filing invoices and statements as well as dealing with purchase enquiries. Other duties include assistance in production on monthly management accounts, balance street reconciliations, daily banking’s and cashflow, credit control, as well as ad-hoc duties that come up within the accounting functions.

Essential Criteria

• GCSE at level 4/9 or A/C in English, Maths and one other subject
• IT literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft packages
• Attention to Detail and Accuracy
• A positive and enthusiastic attitude

Training?

You will be working with one of ourpartners undertaking an AAT or anAssistant Accountant qualification.
