Scarlet in London is seeking an Applied Machine Learning Engineer to join the team building production ML systems for medical device certification. You will own meaningful problems with clinicians and engineers, shaping success metrics and guiding deployment from prototype to live use.

You will define the approach, test rigorous solutions, and balance quality with latency and cost while collaborating with regulatory and technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping ML-enabled software to production.
• Ability to build and evaluate agent-driven systems with retrieval components.
• Familiarity with balancing accuracy, latency and cost in production.

Responsabilités

• Agentic document understanding: build agents to search and parse technical files with traceable sources.
• Evidence harnesses: create retrieval pipelines across large document collections with source attribution.
• Evaluations: define success, build benchmarks and measure citations and expert agreement.
• Applied AI alignment: develop safe, unbiased ML systems for certification workflows.
