Job summary

The Mathematical Institute at Oxford is inviting applications for an Associate Professor (or Professor) in Applied Mathematics. The appointment includes duties at Christ Church and a salary scale with a substantial Oxford Living Subsidy, plus an additional potential allowance upon Full Professor title.

Successful candidates will conduct high-impact research, secure funding, supervise projects, and teach a range of mathematics topics.

Qualifications

  • PhD in mathematics or a closely related discipline with outstanding research in applied mathematics.
  • We welcome applications from across applied mathematics with a preference for candidates developing or applying modern data-centric computational methodologies, including machine learning and artificial intelligence, to advance fundamental understanding and engineering of problems arising in the physical, biological, medical, and information sciences.
  • They will be expected to teach effectively across a range of topics in mathematics.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out, disseminate the results of, obtain funding for, and supervise research at a high international standard in the field of applied mathematics and for teaching a range of topics in mathematics via lectures, classes and tutorials.
