Job summary

Anthropic seeks a Senior Applied AI Security Architect to drive security and regulatory excellence across enterprise engagements in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

You will partner with CISOs, security architects, compliance teams, and DPOs to design compliant, secure AI deployments and lead deep-dives on data residency, encryption, access controls, and audits. This role combines pre‑sales technical leadership with cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in enterprise security, cloud architecture or pre-sales in regulated EMEA industries.
• Deep knowledge of network security, IAM, encryption, API security and audit/logging.
• GDPR expertise including data residency, retention, cross-border transfers, DPIAs.
• Familiar with EU AI Act in context of foundation models.
• Experience with DORA, NIS2, SOC 2, PCI-DSS and AI/ML regulatory guidance.
• Proven track record leading engagements with CISOs and security teams.
• Strong cloud architecture across AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Excellent communication; fluent English; additional European languages a plus.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary security and compliance expert in customer engagements, addressing technical questions about architecture, data flows, encryption, access controls, and deployment models.
• Partner with CISOs, security architects, compliance teams, and DPOs to understand security requirements and design solutions that meet European regulatory standards.
• Lead technical deep-dives on network architecture, EU data residency, data retention, cross-border transfers, API security, authentication and authorization, audit logging, and integration patterns for regulated environments.
• Support enterprise security reviews, vendor assessments, and due diligence with detailed technical documentation and expert guidance.
• Guide customers through EU AI Act readiness, DORA, and NIS2, and position Anthropic within the European competitive landscape.
• Collaborate with Sales and Applied AI teams from initial conversations through deployment.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to understand Claudes security capabilities, relay customer feedback, and influence the roadmap.
• Develop security-focused collateral, reference architectures, and best practices for regulated industries.
• Travel regularly across EMEA for security workshops, architecture reviews, and strategic account meetings.

Salary: £57,000 - 73,000 per year

Requirements

• We have 7+ years of experience in enterprise security, cloud architecture, or technical pre-sales, with significant exposure to regulated industries in EMEA such as financial services, insurance, or healthcare.
• We have deep technical knowledge of enterprise security concepts, including network security, identity and access management, encryption at rest and in transit, API security, and audit/logging requirements.
• We have working knowledge of GDPR, including data residency, data retention, Zero Data Retention, international transfers, and DPIAs, and familiarity with the EU AI Act as it applies to foundation models.
• We have experience navigating compliance frameworks relevant to European financial services and insurance, including DORA, NIS2, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, and national regulators guidance on AI/ML such as FCA/PRA, BaFin, ACPR, and FINMA.
• We have a track record of leading complex, high-stakes engagements with CISOs, security teams, and compliance officers at large European enterprises.
• We have a strong understanding of cloud architecture and deployment models, including AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as VPCs, private endpoints, hybrid connectivity, and the European sovereign cloud landscape.
• We have excellent communication skills and can explain complex security topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
• We are fluent in English; additional European languages are a strong plus.
• We have a good understanding of the EMEA enterprise AI market and competitive landscape.
• We can navigate ambiguity and move fast in a rapidly evolving market.
• We have a collaborative mindset and understand that sales is a team sport.
