SoCode in London is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to design and implement production-grade AI systems, collaborating with research and engineering teams in an Agile environment.

The role focusses on LLMs, RAG, and modern microservice architectures, with a strong emphasis on high-quality software and technical leadership. Hybrid working in London is on offer, with sponsorship not provided.

Qualifications

• Experience building LLM-driven systems, including RAG.
• Commercial Python development experience.
• Strong understanding of clean, maintainable and well-tested software.
• Fluency with agentic tooling.
• Excellent technical communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree from a leading or internationally recognised university.
• A strong product mindset and focus on delivering user value.
• A self-starting, creative approach to problem solving.

We’re looking for an Applied AI Engineer to join a growing AI organisation and work closely with the research and engineering teams to build high-quality, production-grade AI systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build solutions using LLMs, RAG and related AI technologies
• Develop and maintain high-quality production software
• Architect and maintain microservice-based systems
• Take ownership of technical problems from concept through to production
• Work closely with research and engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Provide technical guidance and support to more junior engineers

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience building LLM-driven systems, including RAG
• Commercial Python development experience
• Strong understanding of clean, maintainable and well-tested software

Further Information:

The role is paying up to £140,000pa + bonus and is based in London with Hybrid working on offer. This role is not providing sponsorship
