Applications Specialist – Salesforce/Veeva, London

The end goal of our clinical trials is to potentially eradicate common illnesses like the common cold and flu completely – or at least make treatment of them as easy and effective as possible. Volunteers are central to the work that we do. Our studies focus on testing new treatments on real people, in a safe, controlled, clinical environment.
We are expanding our operations and investing in our next-generation systems. To support this, we are looking for an IT Application Specialist, a crucial role in developing and maintaining our strategic systems based on Salesforce and Veeva platforms.

Main Responsibilities & Duties
- Responsible for the end-to-end design of solutions on the Salesforce platform and other CRM technologies.
- Design, develop, and implement custom solutions in Salesforce, including custom objects, fields, workflows, and Apex code to address business requirements.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to define solutions.
- Gather and analyze data to support assessments and recommendations.
- Identify Salesforce technical solutions and ecosystem products that address requirements.
- Complete solution architecture documents and artefacts in line with organization standards.
- Integrate Salesforce with other systems and applications, ensuring seamless data flow and consistent processes.
- Configure and maintain Salesforce settings, including security, user permissions, data sharing, and automation using tools like Process Builder and Flow.
- Leverage Salesforce Lightning to create user-friendly and visually appealing applications and interfaces.
- Address technical issues and troubleshoot problems in the Salesforce environment.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, customizations, and code changes.
- Contribute to improving the overall development processes and methodologies followed by the development team.
- Stay current on Salesforce best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies, and recommend opportunities for improvement.
Explain complex technical matters to non-technical audiences.
Skills & Experiences
- Implement Salesforce industry best practices.
- Salesforce System owner responsibilities including validation, documentation, and end user training.
- Maintenance and administration of existing Salesforce applications.
- On-site & off-site IT and Vendor engagement as required.
- Key point of contact for all ‘owned’ internal/external Salesforce project issues.
- Develop in-depth understanding of Salesforce products (Sales, Service, Experience, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Pardot).
- Act as in-house SME for Salesforce Lightning, Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Community Cloud; Process Builder and Flow.
- Interdepartmental and cross-functional work to ensure delivery of business and project targets.
- IT helpdesk support for tickets raised against supported applications.
- Identify and drive efficiencies through software and systems with units across the business.
- On-site & off-site/in-hours & out-of-hours IT support as required.
- Provide IT project support to the business and IT Project Manager.
