Job Overview

This position is based at York Biotech Campus (UK) - York YO41 1LZ, with hybrid work supported. Remote work within the UK or Europe is also possible, with travel to York and customer sites as needed.

Role Summary

The Market Applications Specialist within our Energy Technologies R&D team will leverage deep technical expertise in Industrial Lubricants to support customer development projects, new technology initiatives, and collaborate with sales to meet growth targets. The role requires excellent customer-facing skills and a strong knowledge of hydraulics, gear lubricants, and environmentally acceptable lubricants, along with market trend awareness to guide innovation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide technical support to customers across Europe and beyond to drive sales and retention.
2. Develop customer-specific projects to promote technology adoption and deliver tailored solutions.
3. Serve as the technical expert for the Industrial Lubricants market within Cargill’s Energy Technologies division, articulating technical needs and future directions.
4. Oversee new product and formulation development projects in the Industrial Lubricants area.
5. Travel approximately 25-35% of the time.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Proven success in new product development and data generation in Industrial Lubricants.
• Experience supporting technical customers in a highly technical market.
• Knowledge of Intellectual Property and patent strategies is preferred.
• Background in Chemistry to support structure-performance evaluations is advantageous.
• Strong business acumen.
