Job summary

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester is seeking an Applications Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. You will deliver an efficient, responsive, patient‑focused applications service through the management of an Applications support service team.

You will oversee second line support for clinical and non-clinical systems, drive improvements, and lead on major upgrades and new implementations, coordinating with the Digital Services team and third-party

Qualifications

University degree or demonstrable equivalent experience.
Experience leading a team and delivering time-limited projects.
Experience with third-party suppliers and working in an NHS environment.
Knowledge of how computer systems support patient care and management processes in an NHS Trust.

Responsibilities

Lead the Applications support service team to deliver an efficient, responsive IT service.
Minimise downtime and mitigate risks in the applications environment.
Deliver application-based projects such as new implementations and upgrades.
Develop close working relationships with the Digital Services team and the wider user community.
Manage second line support for clinical and non-clinical applications with internal SLAs.
Line manage the team, provide regular performance reports and staff development.
Coordinate with third party suppliers and internal stakeholders to meet deadlines.
