Job Summary:

In this role within the WMArchitect Applications Engineering team, you will design the single-use systems for the WMArchitect product line. Collaborating with global sales teams, you will draw and quote systems that are innovative and manufacturable, ensuring we meet the high standards of the biopharma and medical device industries. An initial project will focus on increasing automation in the design process, including automated BOM generation, to improve efficiency and reduce errors through transitioning to SolidWorks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the consultative selling process for WMArchitect, working with sales teams across multiple countries to evaluate design requests.
  • Manage multiple stakeholders to prioritize inquiries effectively.
  • Join customer calls to provide technical guidance and troubleshoot design issues.
  • Design and draw new assembly products, providing expert knowledge on assembly design and feasibility.
  • Balance factors such as lead time, cost, component availability, fit, function, manufacturability, and customer requirements to optimize designs.
  • Create manufacturing drawings using vector design software (e.g., CorelDraw).
  • Work with the validation team to ensure components comply with standards.
  • Quote new designs and update prices for existing drawings using predefined cost models and liaising with suppliers.
  • Maintain WMArchitect part numbers in the ERP system.
  • Collaborate with the PLM team and SolidWorks partners to develop proof-of-concept models, establish automation rules, transition to Windchill, and train teams on SolidWorks and PLM systems.
  • Work with planning and operations to troubleshoot technical issues during manufacturing.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and quality programs, including sterility and product testing.
  • Monitor and report team KPIs in daily meetings.

Skills/Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Experience with biopharmaceutical processing components and single-use systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with CAD software, ideally SolidWorks.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Effective communication skills, managing diverse stakeholders.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Attention to detail.
