This position is located at RBC AeroStructures, a division of RBC Bearings. RBC AeroStructures is a leading manufacturer of structural and flight control assemblies for the military and commercial aerospace industry. RBC AeroStructures serves most major military and commercial aerospace platforms. This position will be responsible for reviewing, planning, and monitoring incoming special design requirements and providing technical support and assistance both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

1. Review all new customer applications for integration into our manufacturing process and create new custom designs that meet customer requirements.
2. Provide cost models to management and executive teams for review.
3. Create technical proposals for customers and review designs for potential intellectual property benefits for RBC and the aerospace industry.
4. Establish testing requirements and test plans, report test results to customers for product approval.
5. Review customer-provided build-to-print designs for manufacturing integration.
6. Analyze designs and suggest improvements for consideration.
7. Create manufacturing technical documents and release designs to manufacturing.
8. Provide technical support to the sales force regarding product design, improvements, customer support, and new applications.
9. Work with customers to resolve technical issues and make technical presentations with Sales Engineers at target accounts.
10. Assist in the technical education of sales trainees and personnel from other departments.
11. Act as an engineering consultant to manufacturing on product-related problems.
12. Collaborate with manufacturing to redesign problematic parts for better manufacturability.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with experience in design drafting, mechanical design, or manufacturing methods.
• Previous experience in design drafting, mechanical design, or manufacturing methods is a plus.
