Job summary

Matsuura Machinery Ltd is seeking an Applications Engineer – Milling to join our Leicestershire team. You will support pre- and post-sales activities, deliver customer training on CNC operation and programming, and provide technical application support across UK projects.

The role involves regular travel and overnight stays as required, with a 36-hour week and comprehensive product training. A strong CNC background and experience with FANUC controls are essential for success.

Qualifications

Engineering background with machine tools experience from a manufacturer or distributor of CNC machining centres or similar roles.
Experience programming and operating CNC machines, preferably on milling centres.
Ability to train customers and provide technical application support across pre- and post-sales.

Responsibilities

Commission and setup CNC machines ready for production.
Deliver comprehensive customer training on machine operation and programming.
Apply production engineering know-how to develop processes maximizing output, efficiency and machine performance.
Provide problem solving and technical support to customers.
Assist with tool selection, fixturing, work holding, and cutting tool optimisation.
Identify opportunities for product and process improvement.
