Job Title: Applications Engineer (Tendering)

Location: Hybrid (Nottingham Office - Ilkeston & Home-based)

Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, Flexible Hours

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Applications Engineer (Tendering) to join our dynamic team. In this customer-focused role, you will be pivotal in the project lifecycle, working closely with the business to create tenders, direct sourcing, and collaborating with Project Managers. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your engineering knowledge with a customer-facing role, offering the chance to contribute directly to the success of automation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Communication: Engage with clients throughout the tendering process, addressing any queries and ensuring all specifications are clearly understood.

  • Cost Estimation: Analyze project requirements and provide accurate and detailed cost estimates.

  • Technical Understanding: Understand client specifications and translate them into effective, technical proposals.

  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks in the project and work proactively to mitigate them.

  • Tender Preparation: Work closely with the sales and engineering teams to prepare competitive, accurate, and timely tender submissions.

Requirements:

  • Engineering Background: A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience in Tendering: Proven experience in tendering, ideally in automation, though other engineering project experience will be considered.

  • Technical Expertise: Knowledge of Automation systems, particularly Allen Bradley and Siemens industrial control systems.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to analyze complex project requirements and create precise, detailed proposals.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Willingness to Learn: A proactive approach to acquiring new skills and knowledge in the automation field.

  • Salary Range: £50,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience).
