Job Responsibilities
  1. Accompany sales representatives at customer meetings and site visits to ensure comprehensive understanding and fulfilment of technical requirements.
  2. Provide advice on the cost and feasibility of proposed solutions.
  3. Supply technical knowledge and designs through precise calculations and detailed drawings.
  4. Engage directly with customers to address engineering and technical inquiries.
  5. Advise management and depot managers on project-specific purchases and specialized cross-rent options to meet customer needs effectively.
  6. Provide engineering advice and support to develop and enhance product applications, ensuring consideration of the most suitable commercially viable (new and existing) technologies within target industries.
  7. Prepare and hand over detailed project documentation and specifications to the Depot Team to ensure project execution meets customer expectations.
  8. Support project management activities as needed, in coordination with the Depot Manager, especially during high business activity periods.
  9. Evaluate specified projects regarding technical performance and ensure proper administration according to Energyst policies and procedures.

Specific Skills

As an Applications Engineer, you should have industry knowledge in at least one of the following sectors: oil and gas, electric power, industrial, marine, or rental. Skills include:

  • Mechanical and electrical engineering expertise
  • Full working knowledge of engine systems and integration
  • IT proficiency with CAD and basic CAN network understanding
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Project management capabilities from start to finish
  • Technical advisory and problem-solving skills
  • Creative and analytical problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Commercial awareness of costs and revenue opportunities
  • Capability to perform Engine Audit Evaluations and interpret results effectively
Education & Experience

Degree in Engineering, Apprentice to HND level, or significant industry experience. Additional requirements include:

  • Knowledge of engines and installations
  • Experience in designing, developing, and validating components
  • Experience presenting solutions in customer-facing meetings
  • Ability to conduct detailed on-site testing
