Job summary

DXC Technology is seeking an experienced Applications Architect to join our Digital Applications Transformation team in Hampshire. You will define architectures, govern standards, and guide delivery across modernization, cloud-native, and microservices initiatives.

This role emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders and engineering teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, while ensuring security and maintainability within enterprise platforms.

The Applications Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing application architectures that align with business objectives, ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions that support enterprise application strategy and digital transformation initiativesKey ResponsibilitiesApplication Architecture StrategyDefine and maintain the target application architecture and roadmap aligned with business goals.Develop application reference architectures, frameworks, and design principles.Lead application portfolio rationalization (consolidation, decommissioning, modernization).2. Application Design & IntegrationDesign scalable, modular, and reusable application architectures.Define integration patterns (API-led, event-driven, middleware) across systems.Ensure seamless interaction between core systems, third-party applications, and digital platforms.3. Governance & StandardsEstablish architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices for application development.Lead architecture review boards and ensure compliance with enterprise standards.Maintain application architecture documentation and repository.4. Modernization & TransformationDrive legacy application modernization initiatives (rehost, refactor, replace).Promote adoption of cloud-native and microservices-based architectures.Enable digital transformation through modern application platforms.5. Stakeholder CollaborationPartner with business stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams to translate requirements into application solutions.Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on application strategy and investments.Collaborate with infrastructure, data, and security architects for holistic solutions.6.
