Job description

As an Application Support Engineer / Field Service Engineer, you will join our UK Lifecycle Services group supporting customers through a blend of upgrades, application deployments, and maintenance activities on their DeltaV DCS/SIS.

You will primarily engage our Process Systems and Solutions (PSS) customers within the UK, including offshore installations, to build relationships and become their trusted adviser.

We deploy a wide variety of products from the DeltaV portfolio, with a significant Cybersecurity focus – including Backup & Recovery, Patch Management, Predictive Maintenance, Endpoint Security, Application Whitelisting, and DeltaV Mobile. You will complete certification paths for the products required to support our customers so that you can deploy and maintain them.

Support activities include maintenance and incident resolution, and you'll be part of the on-call team providing emergency response to UK customers.

These activities require regular travel to customer sites (approximately % to % of your time).

Responsibilities:
  1. Project Execution: Design, install, and commission project deliverables.
  2. Customer Support: Resolve product and application issues, coordinate with the Global Support Centre.
  3. Sales Support: Assist with proposals, site surveys, product demonstrations, and identifying service opportunities.
  4. Field Service: Support LTSA contracts, system administration, health checks, and participate in on-call emergency response.
  5. Working Environment: Willingness to work throughout the UK, offshore, or abroad, including occasional unsociable hours.
  6. Safety Systems: Maintain and repair DeltaV SIS.
  7. Training & Certification: Complete necessary training and certifications.
Who You Are:

A proactive, analytical Support Engineer with control systems knowledge and a customer-focused approach, eager to work for a global leader.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of computer, network, and control system architectures, including Virtualization.
  • Knowledge of DeltaV and related products on Windows platform.
  • Experience installing Windows OS and applications.
  • Understanding of DeltaV portfolio or similar DCS products.
  • Experience with project documentation.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication skills and customer interaction experience.
  • Basic knowledge of control system configuration, graphic modifications, and third-party interfaces (OPC, Modbus, Profibus).
Preferred:
  • On-site experience.
