Application Support Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for an Application Support Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting cutting-edge systems in gas turbine engine test facilities around the world.

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading advanced software and control systems, ensuring mission-critical applications run smoothly and reliably. This role blends hands-on technical support with innovation and application lifecycle management—perfect for someone passionate about customer success, system performance, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Maintain and troubleshoot software systems, data acquisition and instrumentation, and PLCs in engine test environments.
  • Provide end-to-end technical and engineering support for MDS software products across fixed and deployed platforms.
  • Perform root cause analysis and diagnostics, integrating new technologies and deploying updates to enhance system reliability.
  • Implement software upgrades and manage application baselines in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with customers to build and modify system configurations, ensuring optimal HMI and system usability.
  • Deliver on-site and remote support for system installations, commissioning, and upgrades—often on short notice.
  • Provide feedback to software design teams on field issues, usability, and future product improvements.
  • Document and maintain software version histories and development processes.
What You Bring to the Team
  • Degree or diploma in Computing/Software Engineering, or equivalent related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience administering and maintaining Linux-based systems.
  • Solid experience resolving complex software issues and applying structured problem-solving.
  • Hands-on scripting and automation for deployments and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with virtualized environments such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Superb collaboration, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and support projects across time zones with flexible working hours.
  • Experience working in gas turbine test facilities or similar high-integrity, regulated environments.
  • Understanding of measurement principles and test system integration.
  • A valid passport and flexibility to support customer sites globally.
