What to expect:

• Responsible for the support and on-going development of the client’s ETL middleware systems.
• Ability to provide 24/7 application support and application development to our UK customer.
• Ability to help maintain strong relationships with our customer which spans many years and enhance their applications and expand the services.
• Providing full technical support to the customer, including development and support to external suppliers
• Opportunity to assist the team leader in future projects through full project life cycle (specification, development, system testing, implementation, and on-going support)

What we expect from you:

• Relevant experience working in a support and development role will be advantageous
• Strong communication skills with clients, colleagues, and management
• You will take on full responsibility, with customers at your focus, and the ability to make good judgements
• Ability to take initiative.
• Proven experience of implementing new systems, with ability to understand and maintain/enhancing existing systems
• Time managed and organised, you can meet SLA’s that are prescribes and take appropriate action to ensure none of them are exceeded.
• Strong analytical capability
• Experience in the following:
• Object-oriented programming or ETL tool – ideally in a product such as IBM’s WebSphere DataStage TX (Mercator)
• Unix shell scripting/programming – Ideally Solaris
• Relational Databases/SQL – in particular Oracle DB.
• Knowledge of Job scheduling tools such as IBM Workload scheduler.
