Job description

Application Support Analyst – you will be responsible for supporting, monitoring, and maintaining business‑critical middle and back‑office applications that underpin SEFE’s trading operations. Working in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment, you will ensure application stability, deliver release and change activities, resolve incidents, and provide high‑quality technical support that enables business teams to operate effectively and efficiently.

What Will You Do
  • Provide operational support across a portfolio of middle and back‑office applications, managing incidents and service requests while ensuring timely resolution and excellent service delivery.
  • Lead problem management activities by identifying root causes, implementing short‑term workarounds, and working with development teams to deliver sustainable long‑term solutions.
  • Manage major production incidents from identification through to resolution, coordinating stakeholders, providing regular communications, and minimising business disruption.
  • Support application releases and change activities, including code deployments, environment management, change approvals, and post‑release validation across production and non‑production environments.
  • Monitor application performance, availability, and end‑of‑day processing activities, proactively identifying opportunities for automation, optimisation, and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with business users, vendors, and technology teams while maintaining high‑quality operational documentation, knowledge repositories, and support processes.
What Will You Bring
  • Experience supporting business‑critical applications within a complex IT environment, plus if it's within the energy trading, commodities, or financial services sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, web technologies, and application support best practices, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes, including incident, problem, change, and service request management; ITIL certification is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems, trade lifecycle processes, and key industry concepts such as P&L, settlement, and risk management.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a customer‑focused approach and the ability to build effective working relationships across business and technology teams.
