Job description

We’re looking for a hands-on, experienced Application Service Owner who can take charge of key business applications—owning their performance, support, and ongoing improvement. If you enjoy solving problems, managing tech operations, and working across teams to deliver smooth and secure applications, this role is for you.

As an Application Service Owner, you will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle, performance, and continuous improvement of business-critical applications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Your responsibilities will include leading application implementation projects, managing stakeholder expectations, and driving successful execution from planning to deployment while ensuring scalability, security, and operational excellence.

The Technology Service Management Team is responsible for all activities, processes, policies, and procedures related to designing, implementing, improving, and supporting IT services within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and drive projects related to application reviews, customer integration, and new application onboarding.

  2. Manage procurement, vendors, and cybersecurity aspects of applications.

  3. Act as the application service owner for multiple applications on the Customs Integration platform, responsible for technical support levels L1/L2/L3.

  4. Update or create Configuration Items (CI) and Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) data with the Service Catalogue Team as needed.

  5. Document or update Run Book documentation, Knowledge Management repositories, and Disaster Recovery Plans.

  6. Collaborate with SOE teams to build or extend Performance and Availability Monitoring solutions (e.g., Riverbed, Datadog).

  7. Work with ITFMO to extend IT Financial Management (ITFM) models and data for budgeting and cost transparency.

  8. Ensure deployed services align with strategy, architecture, and operating models.

  9. Design, build, and deploy services for transitioning new Configuration Items (CI) applications and technologies into the Standard Operating Environment (SOE), including operational workflows.

We Are Looking For:
  • 5+ years of experience as an Application Service Owner.

  • CargoWise certification is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with MIC-CUST (Global Trade Compliance Software) is preferred.

  • Experience managing IT services including:

  • IT service management (ITSM), incident handling, and command centers.

  • Application monitoring tools like Riverbed or Datadog.

  • Financial models in IT (budgeting, cost tracking).

  • Cloud platforms (PaaS/IaaS), APIs, databases, and identity services.

  • Collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams, Outlook).

  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT operations, tools, and service processes.
