Application Security Specialist

Our client is looking to hire an experienced Application Security Specialist to join them on a 6-month initial contract, working on a hybrid (London, remote) basis, inside IR35.

The pay rate for this role is approximately £650 per day, inside IR35.

Key Skills Required:

• Strong security and development background, particularly in SDLC-focused roles
• Deep knowledge of OWASP API Top 10
• Ability to review Swagger/OpenAPI specifications for vulnerabilities
• Familiarity with fallback controls such as WAFs and API gateways
• Experience using SIEM/logging tools to monitor API threats
• Knowledge of security frameworks like NIST, OWASP SAMM, or internal standards
• Experience creating risk dashboards and reports for APIs
• Ability to communicate technical risks effectively to stakeholders
• Experience in large-scale, enterprise environments is a plus
