Job summary

Amazon Security is seeking an experienced Application Security Engineer in the UK to join our team. You will conduct application security reviews, design secure architectures, and perform threat modeling to protect billions of lives.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree, deep knowledge of networking protocols, and strong programming experience in languages such as Python, Java, or C++. Experience with AWS, security frameworks, and AI-enabled security automation is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP.
• Experience programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or a similar OO language.
• Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques.
• Experience in security domains like threat modeling, secure coding, security reviews, or secure software development.
• AI/LLM-based automation of security workflows.
• Experience with AWS products and services.
• Experience with security disciplines including threat modeling, cryptography, identity management, or secure software development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct application security reviews.
• Design secure architectures.
• Perform threat modeling.
• Complete projects and research work as needed.
• Deliver security training and outreach to internal development teams.
• Automate and enhance security review processes using AI agents and LLMs.
• Create security guidance documentation.
• Deliver and improve security metrics.
