Application Security Architect – London/Remote

Atrium UK is seeking an experienced Application Security Architect to collaborate with engineering and solution architecture teams. The role involves developing technical requirements, ensuring cohesive solutions, and meeting business needs. It is primarily remote with occasional visits to the London office. Applicants must be based in the UK and able to travel to London as needed. The position offers PAYE/umbrella options and is inside IR35.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Managing application security from inception to completion, ensuring appropriate security controls.
  2. Understanding healthcare delivery models, key systems, and stakeholder concerns.
  3. Updating and enforcing information security policies and standards.
  4. Conducting vulnerability testing, risk analysis, and security assessments.
  5. Finding practical solutions considering business constraints.
  6. Aligning security solutions with customer needs and business objectives.
  7. Communicating security risks effectively to senior management.
  8. Staying current with industry trends, standards, and regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI.
  9. Possessing extensive experience in application security architecture within regulated and agile environments.
  10. Implementing security measures within development pipelines and DevOps practices.
  11. Holding relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, CEH, Azure, AWS).
  12. Demonstrating technical expertise in security technologies, cryptography, and secure development practices.
  13. Engaging in threat modeling, dynamic security testing, and secure coding in languages like .NET, Java, and scripting languages.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, stakeholder management experience, and a thorough understanding of security standards and frameworks.
