Role

As an Engineer supporting bespoke applications for our clients, you thrive on being integral to the mission; working collaboratively with customer and development teams to maintain and sustain operational integrity of mission critical National Security services through-life.

As our next Applications Operations Engineer, you’ll be resolving issues before your customers notice and ensuring continued operational integrity of services that are strategically important to the nation. You will be deploying to both reference and live environments, supporting the development, testing, and deployment of code through CI/CD into integration, reference, and operational environments, and owning the triage/analysis and resolution of support tickets.

Requirements
  1. Experience with Linux system administration, particularly with virtualisation or containerisation technologies such as Docker.
  2. Use of Infrastructure as Code technologies (IaC) such as Ansible.
  3. Recent experience with Python scripting.
Desirable
  1. Exposure to DevOps or experience working alongside software development teams in a CI/CD environment and using tools such as Gitlab and Jenkins.
  2. Interest in automation scripting, or coding (e.g. in Java) would be advantageous.

Where you’ll work

ROMSEY - You’ll find our Romsey site located within beautiful Hampshire countryside, close to the picturesque New Forest District and not far from a superb stretch of the south coast. This is no corporate concrete jungle; this is a manor house site, with ample parking, an on-site gym, and a driveway full of daffodils in the spring. Predominantly working on site with flexibility for hybrid working where client delivery and project needs permit.

GLOUCESTER - You’ll find our Gloucester site in a business park two minutes from junction 11A of the M5; The site allows easy access to our local customer base. Set on the outskirts of the Cotswolds, you are never far from a picturesque view or lunchtime walk. Predominantly working on site with flexibility for hybrid working where client delivery and project needs permit.

This role involves working the majority of the time on site at our Romsey or Gloucester location, or client site.

Clearances

Due to the nature of this role, we require you to be eligible to achieve DV clearance.
