At Delt Shared Services, we're not here to simply run systems - we're here to help people do amazing things. As a shared services partner to the NHS and local government, our work supports the smooth delivery of public services across the Southwest.

We're looking for an experienced Applications Manager to lead the evolution of our business-critical software landscape. In this high-impact role, you’ll manage a diverse applications portfolio, shape how systems are integrated and optimised, and lead a skilled in-house team to deliver technical excellence and real-world outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Overseeing the development, support and optimisation of core applications across local government and healthcare environments.
  • Leading a multidisciplinary team of analysts, engineers and specialists.
  • Ensuring applications are scalable, secure, and well-integrated — improving productivity and data flow across departments.
  • Working with business stakeholders to align technology with operational goals.
  • Managing third-party suppliers and software vendors, from procurement to SLA compliance.
  • Driving application-related projects, balancing timelines, budgets and risk.
  • Monitoring performance, leading improvement efforts and managing the applications roadmap.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience in a senior IT applications role, including at least 2 years in a management or leadership position.
  • Proven ability to lead a team of 8 or more, coaching for development while delivering results.
  • A strong grasp of business applications common in local government or healthcare (HR/payroll, asset management, social care, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Solid project and vendor management experience.
  • Familiarity with application security, integration, and performance optimisation.
  • A full UK driving licence and ability to travel to sites across Devon.

Why Join Delt?

At Delt, you’ll be part of a purpose-driven team that values trust, flexibility and innovation. We’re proud to be one of the UK’s most loved workplaces, supporting thousands of professionals who rely on our services every day.

Benefits include:

  • Generous holiday allowance of 25 days plus bank holidays
  • Up to 12 flex leave days a year
  • Matched contribution pension scheme up to 10% of salary
  • Opportunities to buy and sell leave
  • Employee shopping savings portal
  • Opportunities for training to be funded by Delt
  • EV salary sacrifice
  • Performance Related Pay
  • Employee assistance programme supporting mental and physical wellbeing
