Job summary

Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine is seeking an Application Engineer – Radar & ECDIS to be the subject matter expert for VisionMaster Radar and ECDIS. You will support sales through to solution delivery and define system architectures that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

The role requires deep technical knowledge, the ability to translate requirements into compliant solutions, and collaboration with sales, engineering, and customers. Hybrid working with a competitive salary is offered.

  • Strong knowledge of radar and ECDIS systems.
  • Experience translating requirements into compliant solutions.
  • Experience with system specifications, configurations, and integration.
  • Experience in applications engineering or systems engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical authority for VisionMaster Radar and ECDIS systems.
  • Support sales and bid activities by defining system architectures, specifications, and configurations.
  • Translate customer and regulatory requirements into practical, compliant solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance during project execution, ensuring solutions are correctly delivered.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, and service teams to feed back operational and market insights.
  • Support troubleshooting and complex technical queries where deep product expertise is required.

We’re looking for an Application Engineer – Radar & ECDIS, to become the subject matter expert for Sperry’s VisionMaster Radar and ECDIS product lines. This is a pivotal role that sits at the heart of the business, supporting the full value stream - from early sales engagement through to solution delivery.

As an Application Engineer, you will:

  • Act as the technical authority for VisionMaster Radar and ECDIS systems
  • Support sales and bid activities by defining system architectures, specifications, and configurations
  • Translate customer and regulatory requirements into practical, compliant solutions
  • Provide technical guidance during project execution, ensuring solutions are correctly delivered
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, and service teams to feed back operational and market insights
  • Support troubleshooting and complex technical queries where deep product expertise is required
About You

  • Strong technical knowledge of marine navigation systems, particularly Radar and/or ECDIS
  • Experience working with system specifications, configurations, and integration
  • The ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non technical stakeholders
  • A proactive, collaborative mindset and a passion for delivering high quality solutions
  • Experience in applications engineering, systems engineering, technical support, or a similar role (preferred)
