Provides advanced system analysis, design, development, and implementation of cloud-based applications and databases under general direction.

Core Responsibilities

1. Perform senior-level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases, including third-party product integration.
2. Translate technical specifications into code for complex projects, develop programs, test artifacts, and produce reports, supporting automation.
3. Deploy code to development, testing, and production environments on schedule, provide production support, and document change control requests, including peer reviews.
4. Understand software development methodologies and architecture standards, mentor less experienced staff, and resolve high-level issues.
5. Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the project lifecycle, explain technical considerations, and perform systems analysis activities.
6. Understand client business functions and technology needs, with broad knowledge of Vanguard’s technologies, tools, and applications.
7. Communicate system issues effectively with cross-functional team members at appropriate technical levels.
8. Collaborate with business-facing IT teams to deliver new solutions, review specifications, translate into program requirements, and support user acceptance testing and 3rd line support.
9. Build expertise in best practices for solution design and implementation.
10. Manage time effectively across multiple projects with competing priorities.

Primary Skills

• Experience with micro-services, service-oriented architecture, and familiarity with AWS cloud technologies. Proficiency in Python, Java, and React.
• Knowledge of SimCorp’s Dimension, IBOR, and Data solutions (preferred).
• Agile development experience, especially with Jira, and understanding of the full SDLC.
• Experience in the financial industry, particularly in Middle Office roles or on the buy/sell side.
• Experience developing applications for a global user base and managing transformation projects.
• Understanding of OKTA SAML 2.0 Single Sign-On.

Languages & Technologies

Languages: Python (Boto3 & Moto), Java, React.

AWS Technologies: Lambda, S3, Step Functions, Kinesis/Kafka, SNS/SQS, GraphQL, RDS/Aurora, Redshift, IAM, CloudWatch/CloudTrail, CloudFormation, API Gateway.
