Job description

Who are Thatchers Cider?

Established in 1904 by William John Thatcher, we have grown into one of the top cider-making businesses in the world. Now in our fifth generation of family cider makers, we’re exceptionally proud of our Somerset roots.

We’ve experienced tremendous growth through industry-leading levels of investment in our marketing, people development, innovative technology, and world-class cider mill. The best part? We’re just getting started.

As the No.1 family-owned cider brand in the UK and No.2 in the full cider category, we’re proud of our heritage and excited about our future. Our IT team plays a vital role in supporting innovation and growth, recently contributing to the implementation of a new canning line and several other strategic projects.

What will I be doing?

We’re continuing to invest in our business systems and digital capabilities to support our growth and operational excellence. We’re looking for a proactive Application Developer & ERP Support Analyst to help us evolve our systems and support our users.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing and customizing our ERP system.
  • Supporting and enhancing integrations between internal systems and third-party platforms, including REST APIs and OData endpoints.
  • Managing source control and contributing to structured development workflows.
  • Writing and maintaining technical documentation, test plans, and operational user guides for the developmental changes made.
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues across departments to deliver robust, user-focused solutions.
  • Participating in the IT support rota, with an onsite presence required.
  • This is a collaborative role based in our open-plan office, where teamwork, communication, and knowledge sharing are key to our success.
  • Joining the out-of-core hours support rota.
What are we looking for?

What essential skills do I need?

  • Understanding of ERP systems and their role in business operations.
  • SQL and relational database knowledge.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and/or Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Familiarity with source control tools (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with Azure Function Apps.
  • Reporting tools: SSRS, Power BI, Jet Reports.
  • Development languages: C/AL or AL, C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net.
  • Exposure to data warehousing concepts, ideally using Microsoft Fabric.

Personal Qualities:

  • Confidence and ability to engage with people at all levels.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail, whether working independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A positive attitude in the face of challenges.
  • Willingness to gain first-hand experience by being out in the business, away from the desk, to understand problems and solutions.

If you believe you have the skills we are looking for, are self-motivated with strong interpersonal qualities, and can work both independently and as part of the Thatchers team, we look forward to hearing from you!
